Your website is critical to your organisation
Your website is fundamental to your success whether it be selling more products and services, or communicating your key messages to a target audience. It’s the first stop for existing and potential customers, leads, suppliers, and helps potential staff, partners and others find and engage with you (at least it should). In any case, you should have peace of mind that your website will be up and running 24/7 and available to your audience without any hiccups.
Software needs updating?
…Including the software that powers your website (if we’ve made your site for you it’s probably running WordPress). You can get an indication of how often WordPress needs to be updated by checking out recent releases. While we take every security measure possible, more and more websites are getting hacked and attacked, including the big players like Twitter, Facebook and Yahoo, as well as millions of small businesses everyday. It’s the nature of the world we live in and unfortunately websites are an easy target. Wordfence estimates that there are around ~42,000 attacks every minute! Check out a real-time diagram here.
Do it yourself?
Keeping your website safe, up to date, backed up and secure can be time-consuming and requires expert knowledge. All updates need to be validated against any existing themes and plugins which can be time-consuming and tedious. Hiring someone to do this in-house is expensive, and trying to do it yourself takes you away from what you should be doing, which is focussing on your organisational goals.
Let your hosting company do it?
Some hosting companies will offer to keep your website up to date by the same company that hosts it (for thousands of customers every day). Updates managed by hosting companies are normally automated and in most cases, no one will be paying attention to the small details.
If you’re an existing customer, then we know your website intimately because we built it (or have at least worked on it). We know understand the code, the template and any custom scripts that are running (and how the combination of components hang together to make your website work). While we have already setup free website monitoring and automated backups, we are in the best position to keep your website humming with one of our support packages. If you’re a new customer or have an existing website you’d like us to look after, please read on…
What do we do?
Depending on your plan, we will perform an unlimited number of small tasks on your website throughout the month to make sure every piece of content, design and code is word or pixel perfect. We’ll also do all the maintenance tasks that need to be done on the regular.
The main benefit of this approach is that you’ll have a team of “web guys” at your disposal who you can employ to do anything for a fraction of the cost that it would take do it yourself (or by hiring someone else to do it).
Like to know more about our WordPress support services?
We currently provide ongoing support and maintenance services to a number of customers – if you’re interested we’d be happy for you to contact them. If you’re interested in one of our plans above we’d also like to know more about you.
Note: Unlimited means any task (content, design or development) that takes us less than 1-hour to complete and typically covers things like adding a page, post or section to your website. These tasks do not including building advanced features or entirely new functionality (such as a complete online shop or membership or events section). There is no contract for any of these plans and you are free to cancel any time. These plans are offered on a subscription basis and do need to be paid monthly in advance. A 10% discount is available when prepaying for 12-months of more.
