Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know what ‘Wearables’ are. Some things that quickly come to mind are the Apple Watch, FitBit, Samsung Gear. However, is this the direction that wearables are taking? Technology is advancing so quickly that businesses are already looking into other directions for wearables.

VR (Virtual Reality) Goggles such as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Playstation VR are becoming more commonplace for consumers and we believe that this is where wearables are headed.

Recently, a company from the USA called Magic Leap has been creating headlines more and more. Magic Leap is taking what Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Playstation VR are doing to the next level. They have created a system called Mixed Reality.

Mixed Reality is, in essence, seeing images appear in front of you that are physically not available.

Use cases can be seen in this video:

Here at Futura Digital, we’re incredibly excited about the possibilities that a system such as Magic Leap creates. We believe that, within 15 years, systems such as Magic Leap will replace our phones. No more looking down at a screen to read your messages, answer a call, or ordering an Uber. It will all be in front of you!
